Field-tested and certified successes

Siena

In 2015, confirming the technological maturity of its solution, Newlisi signed a multi-year full-service contract with Acquedotto del Fiora S.p.A. for the treatment of sewage sludge produced by the Ponte a Tressa (Siena) wastewater treatment plant. The project has enabled the operator to achieve a significant reduction in operating costs as a result of a decrease in the volume of sludge for disposal of around 70%.

Lecce

In 2017, it was the turn of the Lecce treatment plant, managed by Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A.: the plant was installed in about two months, immediately resulting in a reduction of sludge of more than 65%. Thanks to the presence of the anaerobic digester, biogas production also increased by 44%.

Grosseto

The operation carried out at the treatment plant in Grosseto, instead, was the first project for the supply and installation of the Newlisi system. The project involves the processing of sludge produced by some nearby treatment plants being centralised in the Grosseto plant, which serves as a hub for treating the sludge and sending it to its final destination. The plant, which started up in August 2021, achieved a sludge reduction of about 65% without an anaerobic digester.
